This 1956-only 4-4-2 Atlantic had a black plastic one-piece boiler. Inside this boiler, which was numbered in white, were an operating headlight and a choo-choo unit. A four-positioned reverse unit was mounted inside the plastic tender body, which was decorated with the diamond-shaped "Reading Lines" logo and sans-serif "American Flyer Lines" lettering.
